Expect closures on U.S. 85 starting at 10 p.m. tonight

The North Meadows Extension is progressing, but starting tonight, expect more delays. Residents will find closers on U.S. 85 this evening, May 18, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., occurring thereafter Sundays through Thursdays.

Crews will be working to put more girders and other bridge support structures on the project and hope to have things wrapped up by June 9. Memorial Day Weekend will be the exception and construction will resume after the holiday.

Drivers should look for detour signs at I-25 and either Happy Canyon Road or Meadows Parkway to reroute your commute. Remember to to observe lower posted speed limits in work zones.

Once completed, the 2-mile extension will allow for a better flow of traffic at the Founders/Meadows Parkway and I-25, as well as at Meadows Parkway and U.S. 85. Drivers will likewise enjoy a second northern entryway that will allow them to easily  access the west side of Town.
