If you’re looking for a big sign to tell you where the Pegasus Restaurant is located, you’re out of luck. It is a quaint place that look like someone’s home with a colorful, bronze Pegasus guarding the front entrance. Upon entering, you feel the laid back atmosphere from the decor: A cool hodgepodge of styles including large wood booths and tables, a courtyard patio with a fountain and a pub-style bar area that has an antique Evans gambling wheel nestled between the bottles. Our waitress, Mandy, was very friendly and timely, and we settled in to order up a Windex margarita – yes, that’s what they call it on the menu – to start off our Saturday afternoon lunch date. It seemed like an off-color name for our blue margarita, but when it showed up, it was quite tasty and potent. It came in a pint glass however, which made our margarita not so pretty and the salt we requested didn’t adhere very well to the rim.

The menu at Pegasus has quite a mix of fares to choose from. You have a choice of Greek (which you would expect from the name), American or Tex-Mex cuisine. Of course, to go along with the Marg we ordered, I picked Mexican Combo #4: A beef burrito, a cheese enchilada, a chile relleno with a side of rice and beans. I was really starving, so anything would have tasted good at that point, but I have to be honest, it was just okay. The rice, beans and relleno were good, however the meat in the beef burrito was dry and the enchilada was tough like it had been microwaved.

My husband had a better experience with the jalapeno burger and fries he ordered. The juicy burger came out topped with a heap of jalapenos and cheese, accompanied by a generous side of fries. Needless to say, I helped my husband clean his plate as we sipped Margarita #2: The standard version. As we made our way to the door, I popped into the bathroom which was very clean and had a fresh flowery scent.

We’re glad we stopped in, it was a first for us and if you didn’t know what you’re looking for, you might just miss it!

  1. We are new to CR ~ remodeling an ol house in town just so we can walk to the amazing and quaint shops and absolutely delicious restaurants. Pegasus has been visited by us several times in the last few months plus it’s a restaurant we have taken several couple friends too. Everyone loves the warmth the great service and the absolute delicious dishes. Breakfast is a 10 star, oh wait, so is lunch. It’s a MUST stop and enjoy.

  2. My family of 4 have gone about 5 different times. First time was okay but the rest were very disappointing. The food is not prepared well. The place looks very nice, wait staff just ok, have to flag them down sometimes. We really wanted to like this place but we won’t be going back and no way would I take guests here with other excellent restaurants in town.
