Castle View High School in Castle Rock proudly accepted three prestigious Bobby G awards last night at the Ellie Calkins Opera House. The school was nominated for seven awards and claimed three awards for the second year in a row. This year, the school’s production of “Mamma Mia” claimed Best Scenic Design, Best Direction (by Rochelle Walter), and the crowning jewel: Best Production of a Musical.

Each of the nominees for Best Musical performed a production number from their respective show. Castle View cast members performed the spectacular closing number from “Mamma Mia,” which consisted of a medley of songs from the musical.

The Bobby G Awards recognize outstanding achievements by Colorado students and educators in theatre design, direction, performance, choreography, orchestration, technical production and overall production excellence. The Bobby G Awards are the Colorado regional awards for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA).
