According to a recent news release, the Castle Rock Police are investigating a possible scam that involves a local business and a caller posing as a Castle Rock Water employee.
The owner of the business filed a police report which stated he received a call from an unknown person who claimed to be with Castle Rock Water. According to police, the caller stated the business owner was behind on his water bill and would need to make a payment immediately in order to avoid having his service shut off.
The business owner became suspicious when he was asked to provide payment via a Green Dot prepaid debit card.
