Preschool Starts Kids off on the Right Foot

Studies show that children under age five who are enrolled in early learning programs go on to be successful throughout their school years. They get exposure to the letters, numbers and basic concepts while gaining necessary socialization skills. Institutions like Goddard School of Castle Rock are creating a quality environment to facilitate preschool learning for local youngsters.

They have a curriculum that focuses on learning through play and fun activities. Goddard School uses learning centers, circle time for reading and teaching and enrichment programs that expose their young minds to the world around them. “When children have fun coming to our school they are developing a love for learning that we hope continues throughout their years of schooling,” says Nancy, co-owner at Goddard.

The Goddard School follows a self-created learning program called F.L.E.X. Using developmental guidelines for age and standards set by the state, the acronym stands for Fun Learning Experience.”We recognize that every child learns differently and our teachers create their own child focused lesson plans centered on each child’s learning style,” Radosta commented. The result is that the unique needs of each child can be identified early and met.

Their quality learning also looks to introduce children to professionals in the community and surrounding areas. “This month our theme is Community Helpers,” she proudly says, “We invite various helpers in such as the Police Department, The Fire Department, Veterinarians, Dentists and their assistants, and Doctors.” This includes bringing in representatives from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

“We are onsite owners that work very diligently on making our school the next best thing to home,” says about the learning experience she and her husband Vince have worked hard to facilitate, “We recognize our partnership with our parents, sharing a vision of academic, physical and social success.” And that is exactly the kind of start we can hope to give our kids in life.
