On Thanksgiving morning, more than 3,500 participants and spectators packed the streets of Castle Rock in support of the Help & Hope Center (formally Douglas / Elbert Task Force). Last year, the race brought in 2,800.
The annual “Turkey Rock Trot,” is a 5K Family Fun Run/Walk/Stroll that raises funds for the Help & Hope Center who provides assistance to those who need it most. According to the Help & Hope Center, they’ve helped over 16,000 people, have provided 363 tons of food, have over 47,000 volunteer hours and provided over $1,600,000 in services.
The Turkey Rock Trot started and ended at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and included activities for the entire family. Vendors like 105 W. Brewing Company made sure thirsty participants could also enjoy a nice cold beer after the race.
