Sean Owen, Castle Rock Parks and Recreation, is replacing dirt on the eroded trail at Philip S. Miller Park.

CRCO stopped to talk to Sean Owen from Castle Rock Parks & Recreation at Philip S. Miller Park. He was working from the seat of his front loader to replace the dirt on the path that leads down from the stair incline.

“We’ve had a lot of water erosion,” said Owen. Because the path has been wearing away from gratuitous amount of rain this summer, the trail is being resurfaced with crusher fine: small particles of crushed rock.

Crusher fine is one of the less expensive materials used to give a trail good surface support while giving a more natural appearance than a paved trail. Owen added, “We will be working this weekend and should be finished up by Monday.”
