The African Children's Choir will be at Faith Lutheran Church this Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 7PM.

Composed of children from some of the poorest countries on the continent, the African Children’s Choir has been traveling the world to perform for presidents, the Queen of England and countless celebrities. This Thursday, November 3, they will make a stop in Castle Rock at Faith Lutheran Church to dance and sing their way into local hearts.

After receiving an invitation from Bethel Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs to host the choir, Lead Pastor, Ebassa Bernahu, jumped at the chance to have the group make an appearance at his church.

“A church hosting them in Colorado Springs let us know that the group was coming to Colorado,” said Pastor Ebassa. “It’s exciting because this is the first time the group has performed at Faith Lutheran.”

Bringing a message of hope with their beautiful voices, their concert features traditional African dance intertwined with well-loved children’s songs and traditional spirituals and hymns. “The entire show will be 80 minutes long,” he added.

And there is no cost to attend. “Rather than selling tickets, the group will be accepting donations and there will be CDs and other merchandise for sale,” Pastor Ebassa said. All support goes directly toward assisting African Children’s Choir Programs focused on education, care, relief and future development in Africa.

Along with assisting the nonprofit organization to succeed in its efforts, Pastor Ebassa hopes this will also be an opportunity for the church to meet more members of the community. “It’s an open invitation to all,” he smiled. “We are hoping this concert will be like the last event we held and we will pack all 226 seats in our sanctuary.”
