Coldwell Banker Real Estate just released a report stating Castle Rock is the second most expensive home market in Colorado, following Boulder in the number one spot. The average price of a home in Castle Rock is approximately $750,840, compared to Boulder’s $835,516 average for a four bedroom, two bathroom home.

Following Castle Rock in Coldwell Banker’s list is Evergreen, Westminster, and Denver rounding out the top five spots. Colorado is currently one of the most expensive places to live in the country with real estate and rentals skyrocketing as the state sees an increase in technology and commercial startups taking up roots in the state.

The list was compiled from markets in Colorado that had at the minimum ten four bedroom, two bathroom homes on the market between January and June of 2014. This is why cities like Aspen and Vail aren’t included on the list this year. This helps give more realistic data to potential homeowners, instead of letting one or two listings in high-priced real estate markets skew the overall results.

  1. Pretty distorted picture of home prices for Castle Rock. I would venture to say the median price gives a more accurate picture not the mean. For CR I would expect the median price is around $350k
