The Denver Center for the Performing Arts recently announced its finalists for the seventh annual Bobby G Awards, the Colorado regional awards for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA). Castle View High School in Castle Rock received seven nominations for its Fall 2018 performances of Mamma Mia, including: 

  • Outstanding Achievement in Scenic Design
  • Outstanding Performance by an Orchestra
  • Outstanding Achievement in Musical Direction
  • Outstanding Achievement in Choreography
  • Rising Star – Logan Schreck (sophomore)
  • Outstanding Achievement in Direction
  • Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical

Each of the nominees for Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical will have the opportunity to perform a production number at the awards ceremony, to be held May 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver. Castle View cast members will perform their spectacular closing number from Mamma Mia, which consists of a medley of several of the show’s most popular songs. 

The Bobby G Awards recognize outstanding achievements by Colorado students and educators in theatre design, direction, performance, choreography, orchestration, technical production and overall production excellence. Tickets to attend the awards ceremony can be purchased here.
