Five new Castle Rock Police Officers were sworn in on February 21, 2017.

Last month, Castle Rock added five new officers to the ranks. Coming before Town Council, Police Chief Jack Cauley, introduced the new recruits to the community and talked about the skill sets each would bring to the department.

Chief Cauley opened his presentation with a observation about the large stature of the officers. “Either I’m going to have to find some smaller officers or get some bigger chairs,” he laughed.

He later went on to talk about why each officer had been selected to serve for the Castle Rock Police Department. While some had served in the military — working for the National Security Administration — other candidates have college degrees and valuable experience working for other agencies.

“We look for the cream of the crop when we hire officers,” added Chief Cauley. “As you can see we have acquired a diverse set of skills with our officers and we are very proud to have them here with us.” With a set of diverse skills, department team members compliment each other when working in the field.

Likewise, he wanted the community to understand that while the officers were recruited to serve here, their reason for accepting their positions was largely swayed by the Town’s strong local character. “Each one of these officers is interested in working here because of our focus on community policing and because of our community.”

Please join us in welcoming our new officers!
