Today a 23-year Army veteran who served 4 tours in Iraq was given a dream landscaping makeover. James (Jim) Vines loves the outdoors. Last summer, Jim worked as much as he could to improve his front and backyard where he likes to spend time with his family and friends. This past August, Jim became ill. After many tests and sickness, the doctors found a tumor on his lung which resulted in part of his lung being removed. Because of this, he was unable to finish his soon to be backyard oasis.
Jason and Jeannine Sakry started Landscaping For Vets primarily to give back to veterans that have sacrificed so much for our liberties.
“It’s been on our heart for a couple of years to be able to find a way to give back to our servicemen and women. Our business and family have been blessed over the past few years, and we recognize it is the Great people of our military, and their sacrifices that help ensure our freedoms, and ability to live in a great country, in which we’ve been blessed. I often feel that our society does not recognize, our military personnel with the praise and the gratitude that it should. Giving a free landscape makeover to a well deserving veteran, seems very small in comparison to what they do for us, but it’s a start,” said Jason Sakry, owner of JS Enterprise Landscaping.
Landscaping for Vets, Inc partnered up with Michael Brumbaugh of Shining Light Events to add a little extra boost in outreach for the opportunity.
“As a combat veteran, it is so important to show appreciation to those who served our country. Jason had an incredible vision to create this organization and its an honor to be a part of it with him,” added Michael.
