It’s hard to see the forest for the trees when thinking about the construction that has been going near Meadows Boulevard and 1-25. However, with each inconvenience, we get closer to the end result; traffic that flows better at the Meadows interchange.

The connection, which will make a smooth union between The Meadows neighborhood, U.S. 85 and 1-25, will slow traffic and close roads this weekend and next week. The cause: a 54-inch storm drain will be put in under U.S. 85 making highway closures necessary.

According to a notice from the Town of Castle Rock, upcoming changes will be:

  • Expect a single lane with flaggers from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and a full closure from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. that same night.
  • Full closure from 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 to 5 a.m. Monday Sept. 21
  • Full closure from 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22

Drivers can look for traffic to be detoured at either Happy Canyon Road or Meadows Parkway. Always remember to practice safety, even though frustration may arise and plan for extra time when traveling through the construction zones.
