New Town Manager of Castle Rock, David Corliss

Castle Rock’s finalist for Town Manager has been named. Pending council’s approval on April 7, 2015, David Corliss, could be the new Town Manager of Castle Rock.

Mr. Corliss comes to us from our neighboring state of Kansas. There, Corliss had been the City Manager of Lawrence, having held the seat for the past nine years, since 2006.

Prior to that, Corliss had extensive involvement with the city of Lawrence, having worked in several different positions in legal and management capacities, until he was made Assistant City Manager in 2000.

Corliss has a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Political Science, a Masters in Public Administration, and Juris Doctorate degree all from the University of Kansas.

Background on Lawrence, Kansas

Lawrence is the sixth largest city in the state of Kansas and also the county seat of Douglas County. (Yes, he is leaving one Douglas County for another!)

As of the 2010 census, the city of Lawrence had a population of 87,643; slightly higher than Castle Rock, which was tallied at 48,231 that year. Lawrence is home to the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University.

We give Mr. Corliss a warm CRCO welcome to our Town!
