Paul Donahue will be allowed to finish serving as Mayor of Castle Rock. Last Tuesday, the votes tallied for his possible recall proved his district wants to keep him in office until November, when his term ends.

Showing overwhelming support, District 1—which encompasses the western area known as the Meadows Neighborhood—mailed in ballots that counted 469 votes to recall and 1,245 votes to retain his seat.

Since 2008, Donahue has held a position on Town Council. He was re-elected in 2010 and 2012, becoming Castle Rock’s Mayor.

Now hoping to put this behind him, Mayor Donahue wants to celebrate this success with the community, especially the district he proudly represents.

“I want to thank District 1 for your support during the election,” he said. “God bless you!”
