In a letter obtained by CRCO dated May 19, 2020, Castle Rock Town Councilmen and Douglas County Commissioner Candidate, George Teal has had his membership to the VWF (Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S) revoked.
The letter cites his membership was terminated due to ineligibility.
The State Commander of the VWF, David Stone, asked that VFW Membership be removed from George Teal’s bio on the Town of Castle Rock website.
‘I am also concerned that his characterization of service as “a veteran of Operation Desert Storm” is a misrepresentation of his actual service which was in Germany during Operation Desert Storm,’ added Stone.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard, and reserve forces. … Today, membership stands at more than 1.6 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary.
